Rodd was a barrister for 7 years practicing in commercial and equity matters. In 1993 he formed his own law firm in partnership, and traded until merging with Kemp Strang in November 2016.

Rodd has a broad base of experience complex commercial litigation. For example, he conducted the successful High Court Appeal in Campbell v Backoffice Investments Pty Ltd [2009] HCA 25 an important decision in the area of misrepresentations in commercial transactions, directors responsibilities and shareholder oppression.

Rodd also has conducted many commercial transactions particularly in the media and IT industries. He has acted on more than 50-60 magazine and newspaper sales, purchases, mergers and start-ups. He acted for SAE and Qantm, the world largest private multi-media colleges and over a 10 year period managed the legal affairs of that group with 56 businesses in 24 countries. He was lead lawyer on the sale of the business for an ultimate sale price of approximately $300m.

Rodd recently managed the campaign to remove the board of Bellamy's Australia Ltd, an ASX listed company and he remains a director on its board.
Rodd acts for high net wealth individuals and small to medium entrepreneurial companies.
