Commercial Property Lawyers - Banking, Finance and Property Group (Sydney Office)

We currently have vacancies for Commercial Property Lawyers to join our expanding property team.

The ideal candidate will be dynamic and have between 2 to 6 years relevant PAE. They will also work closely with Partners and peers across teams, handling a variety of matters including transactional work, off the plan sales, leasing and conveyancing (commercial and retail), etc. Lawyers may also be required to assist in acting for large institutional clients in property and finance matters.

To be successful you will have: 

  • Approximataely 2-6 years relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail and drafting ability
  • Ability to identify issues and develop creative solutions for clients
  • Proven track record of effectively managing competing demands and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work with other members of the team

Senior Associate - Dispute Resolution Group (Sydney Office)

We currently have vacancies for a Senior Associate in our Dispute Resolution Group.

To be successful you will have: 

  • 5+ years' experience 
  • Experience in insolvency, banking and commercial litigation
  • Experience in running your own files, including preparation of pleadings, affidavits etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and drafting ability 
  • Excellent client relationship management skills

We currently have vacancies for Litigation Lawyers in our Dispute Resolution Group.

Paralegal - Collections Group (Sydney Office)

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Paralegal in our Collections team in Sydney.

Role Responsibilities include:

  • to assist partners and other authors in the team in the efficient management of matters
  • to complete complex tasks in relation to matters without the direct intervention of an author

Major tasks include:

  • Drafting notices, demands, pleadings and general correspondence
  • Drafting statements of claim, judgments, writs of possession
  • E-filing of court documents
  • Assisting with the general management and running of files to meet client service level requirements and protect clients' interests on all matters
  • Telephone calls and general correspondence with clients, debtors and third parties to progress the files (involves taking instructions, negotiating proposals with debtors)
  • Regular follow ups of security packets, process servers, court documents etc.
  • Preparing discharge of mortgages and arranging settlement, as required
  • Preparing files for eviction
  • Identifying complex, sensitive and high risk matters and escalating them to a lawyer or manager

Knowledge, skills and experience include:

  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for running a file
  • Strong organisational skills to manage a large number of files at any given time and meet deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, debtors and internal staff
  • A team player, willing to pro-actively help others when necessary
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience with LEAP would be an advantage

Junior Legal Assistant - Banking, Finance and Property Group (Sydney Office)

We currently have a vacancy for a Legal Assistant in our Banking Finance and Property group.

Role Responsibilities include: 

  • Prioritise work received from solicitors and type correspondence, documents, faxes etc from dictation
  • Attend to all typing
  • Open new matters
  • Manage files, find and collate documents, close and archive files
  • Attend to photocopying and scanning of documents, mail, faxes and email
  • Liaise with clients as required
  • Assist with billing
  • Draft routine correspondence
  • Ensure urgent tasks are dealt with when required
  • Assist other secretaries and paralegals
  • Order Property searches
